I like this interviewer. He gave Ms. Flack space to really respond to his questions with depth and great context.
Message is about past, present and future........viva legend.😍😍😍

The Legend himself Respect from Tanzania

He’s gotta ILL voice too. Legend
Bass lines were siiiiiick!!!
Only 6 comments 😲
Love Aston and Carlton made Bob Marley l’s music sweet
If I am right FAMILY MAN did the Bass line for; I'ill take you there, Staple singers, He was the inspiration for me having the confidence to Write Bass line for Doz of songs since early 70s till now. Bigup a True Master.
Whats he talking shite about leeping the band together he nearly made it fall apart
R.I.P. Astro :-(
Great man
Modest man ..
Love ya Bill... I'm still listening. Peace.
“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams..
I’m 21 studying music and it’s beautiful that Roberta Flack’s music has inspired so many generations
Super stuff, Steve. I'll have to check out Billy's debut album (you both mention).
The greatest Bass composer ever to come out of Jamaica
Love the way you put that! Bass composer! Word!
I love how he did not really answer the questions into detail but still gave legendary answers. What a man :)
I saw Bob Marley and the Wailers played at the Palace Park June 7th 1980 London with my brother Phill and he's mate Ian very good gig and a good day out nice one one love paulas
I've said it before in other places, but I genuinely think it's way past time that this man was Sir Bernard by now.
Reggae is the universal vibration.
the upsetters dubwise leader
U sound like King Quincy from Trolls World Tour.
why no one talks about carlton barrett?
Carlton is a master. Stewart Copeland and Neil Peart pay him much respect as an inspirational influencer.
Good question, I've been asking myself this for a long time. The best reggae drummer ever, very humble & low key guy that definately didnt seek the spotlight. Was always smiling when he wasn't behind the drums. Remember reading an interview in the 70's & Bob said carly was his true bredren, never arguing/ seeking more money etc. Just loved playing music like he did. always was the first guy at rehearsals & last to leave. Carly was like the Band leader, started the songs & ended them during all the live shows. Carly simply was the guy that gave Wailers their unique sound.
I have played on the exact same model of Ludwig drums as Carlton, since 1987, never looking for anything else. Has just worked! Carlton has always been a huge inspiration!
Sadly,they hated each other...
Thank you for posting this excellent teaching video.
aston barret was an asshole he turned on the wailers and the marleys tried to take them to court in 2012 claiming his bass playng and sound engineering was everything with out him they were nothing thats utter bull shit, he would of taken all their money if he had won but he lost , when bob was sick and dieing he wouldnt go see bob with the wailers when he was sent for, ye didnt like bob, and his brother carly the drummer was a good guy they were brothers but they wernt close they didnt get on that well either, bob said i cant beleive this man was our brother i dont know him anymore, money got to his head he is dirt to the marleys and the wailers, he only gets on with junior the lead guitarist, junior was a dick too, soon as bob died he imitated bob and dressed like him and took over as lead singer and killed the wailers because hes shit and mental, dont believe me? look up interview with al anderson, theres four parts he tells the truth hes the other lead guitarist
wheres my comments gone ffs?
Absolutely Awesome Bill
What a life -and still going
Nice bloke. Glad to have found this. What happened to Mick's brother, Danny, after The Merton Parkas? Can't find anything.
I met Terry by chance in a pub in Walthamstow years ago. Over the years he always had time to meet up and have a chat and a pint. He was genuinely a lovely man. He never stopped smiling. He had no ego and the funniest sense of humour. Good pool player too. RIP TSP
Good questions
I can only recommend Bill Wyman's biography. Along with Manzarek's, the grestest.
Truely legendary long live tha wailers.
I truly believe part of the reason Bill left the Stones was because Stewart was no longer a part - he had passed away.
Ron Wood used to have a nightclub in Miami back in the day. Was called Woodie's. Spent some late nights back then.
Did i hear at 0:15 "to interview Ashton Family Man Barre"LL"?
RIP Bernie.
I just saw The Quiet One which I highly recommend. Bill's interest in archaeology extends to his own past and the history of the Stones. I'm glad to see him having a happy life. My first Stones album 12x5 back when they had three American albums. Been loving them ever since, especially the old stuff when Bill was still in the band. He is really 80? Wow.
I wonder if that Gold top Les Paul guitar came from BRIAN JONES?
fab 1000*
He's very interesting...thank you for the beat Bill
